I think Sweet only uses bank 0, GM sounds. I record from my KORG to MP3 to take the sounds portable. Not sure how the program could access all the KORG sounds as there doesn't seem to be any way to define and select banks. If this were possible I think Korg sales would be destroyed. I agree it would be nice to have real Korg sounds when you are away from your keyboard. Here is the link to some free soundfonts. Just remember you really need to download and install one of the sondfonts to have decent sound in the program - don't judge it by the inbuilt default soundfont which is very basic. I see the biggest plus the portability and possibility to play with any keyboard (either the keyboards midi sounds or using the internal soundfonts you have downloaded for Sweet MIDI Player). I've tried it and it works fine but apart from a better screen it doesn't offer much this way. With the Apple "camera connection kit" and a USB Device cable you can use it to play all your Korg sounds. Korg Kronos2, Casio MZ-X500, PA600, AKAI MPD32, M-Audio Oxygen 25, ZOOM H6, Cakewalk Sonar Rick Stirling - Retired Electrical Engineer - Erstwhile Photographer ”It’s easy to play any musical instrument: all you have to do is touch the right key at the right time and the instrument will play itself.” Would be nice if it could import Korg instrument definition INS file so you could use all the KORG sounds instead of just the GM sounds. Too bad the new keyboard didn't offer any wireless connection features for midi. That's actually really good! I always try to keep up with your latest iPad/iPhone app adventures. My apologies for the long post - I hope this might interest a few of the forum members. I had to mute them there and re-save them. In Korg's sequencer were not muted when played through Sweet MIDI so One bug/incompatibility I found was that midi files that had tracks muted You either play along with them or use it to play your Korg's sounds. I also should add that as far as I am aware you cannot actually play these sounds with your keyboard. I should reinforce that these of course will not sound quite as good as your Pa3x's sound but they are closeĪnd very usable (and remember they fit in your pocket!) Switching from say Fluid to Airfont can be done on the fly in Settings - so its easy to compare them. Arachno SoundFont-Version 1.0 (about 148mb)- found this one on google - similar to Fluid but different Sounds perhaps not quite as detailedīut possibly better balanced volume wise and closer to Korg mix.ģ. Airfont 340 (about 75mb) different and almost as good. If you go ahead and only want one extra sound engine for Sweet MIDI player, I suggest you download the firstĢ. To see which one had the best sound quality - you can easily delete them in itunes as well). I used itunes to install the files (only one file is necessary but I ended up trying 4 different ones Guitars, strings, bass, syth etc) was literally a couple of mouse clicks. So I was suprised that installing the sound files (a whole midi bank with several drum kits and all the usual This is an area I know absolutely nothing about The developers site has links to free sound files. On the go, fine tuning (in case you are playing along with a real piano), setlists, and the ability to importįrom dropbox or icloud or itunes documents. Now imagine this - you are out at a friends place and they want you to perform a couple of songs. The sound is close in quality to Korgs and probably better (so you are not reliant on your keyboard) you can install for free DLS or SF2 (soundfont) files to Now here's the really cool part - if you decide to use the software synth Either use your Pa3x's sounds (via midi USB) OR use the internal software synth. To read than on the Korg screen and on an ipad you could read from the other side of the room).Ģ. Display full karaoke style lyrics on your ipad/iphone (lyrics on the iphone 6 are far easier Limited in that you can't play a full song so I decided to try the full version (about $30)ġ. I've had the free version of Sweet MIDI Player for a while and I found it good to demo songs but its Some attention if you use midi files with some of your songs.
